Pool Table Movers is a specialist company that does exactly what the name says: we dismantle, move, rebuild and re-level pool tables, American pool tables and snooker tables. We are not a general removals firm that occasionally takes on a table. Tables are the whole job, which means our crews know how each make goes together, which bolts hide under the pocket leather, how the slates are pinned and how to get a heavy bed down a narrow staircase without marking a wall.

A slate-bed table is one of the heaviest and most precise items in a home. The slate alone can weigh several hundred kilograms, and the playing surface has to be flat to within a fraction of a millimetre for the balls to run true. Tipping a table on its side or dragging it assembled risks cracked slate, split cushions and a twisted frame. Taking it apart properly, moving each piece padded and flat, and rebuilding it with care is the only reliable way to get it to the new room playing as it did before.

Every move follows the same process. We start by understanding the table and the route at both ends, then quote a clear price. On the day the crew lays floor protection, strips the table down, labels and wraps every part, loads the van and drives to the new address. There the frame is rebuilt and squared, the slates are set and shimmed, seams are filled with wax and the bed is levelled. The cloth is re-stretched or replaced, the cushions and pockets go back on and we roll balls across the bed to check it before we leave.

If the cloth is tired, the move is the ideal time to recloth, because the bed is already exposed and the work adds little time to the job.
